Marlee Matlin Champions Internet Access for NAD at FCC Field Hearing at Gallaudet November 6
COAT is delighted to learn that Academy Award-winning deaf actress Marlee Matlin will speak at the upcoming FCC field hearing at Gallaudet University, November 6 on behalf of NAD. It is expected she will speak for more captioning on the Internet and for reinstatement of video description on TV, two provisions central to H.R. 3101. "Not only is Marlee a phenomenal actress, she understands our experience," said NAD President Bobbie Scoggins. "The nationwide adoption of broadband & internet services can only be achieved when those services are available, affordable and accessible to every American, including Americans who are deaf and hard of hearing."
