COAT advocates for accessibility and usability of technology for people with disabilities. Enacting the 21st Century Communications and Video Accessibility Act (21st CVAA) was a huge step forward and we are working to implement this new law. COAT’s overall aim is to ensure accessibility, usability, and affordability of all broadband, wireless, and Internet technologies for people with disabilities.
New COAT Affiliate Leader Ari Ne'eman Nominated to National Council on Disability
December 17, 2009, Washington, D.C.:--The COAT coalition is delighted to learn that the White House nominated Ari Ne'eman to be on the National Council on Disability (NCD). Ari is the founding President of the Autistic Self-Advocacy Network (ASAN), which recently joined COAT. Other individuals nominated to NCD include:Jonathan M. Young, Carol Jean Reynolds, Fernando Torres-Gil, Chester Alonzo Finn, Gary Blumenthal, Sara Gelser, and Dongwoo Joseph "Joe" Pak. Ne'eman is particularly interested in how broadband technologies can be leveraged to facilitate opportunities for people with autism and related disabilities. A summary bio of Ari Ne'eman is below.
