COAT advocates for accessibility and usability of technology for people with disabilities. Enacting the 21st Century Communications and Video Accessibility Act (21st CVAA) was a huge step forward and we are working to implement this new law. COAT’s overall aim is to ensure accessibility, usability, and affordability of all broadband, wireless, and Internet technologies for people with disabilities.
ACB Members' Efforts Result in Eight More HR 3101 Co-Sponsors
On February 23 and 24, 2010, over one hundred ACB representatives met with their Representatives and Senators on a legislative agenda that included H.R. 3101. As a result, an additional eight Representatives are co-sponsoring the measure. New states with legislators supporting HR 3101 include Kentucky, Tennessee and Kansas with additional co-sponsors also added from California, Massachusetts and New York.
