COAT advocates for accessibility and usability of technology for people with disabilities. Enacting the 21st Century Communications and Video Accessibility Act (21st CVAA) was a huge step forward and we are working to implement this new law. COAT’s overall aim is to ensure accessibility, usability, and affordability of all broadband, wireless, and Internet technologies for people with disabilities.
COAT Sends Letter of Thanks to US Senate for S. 3304: Asks for Hearing
In a letter on May 12, 2010, COAT wrote to the four U.S. Senators -- Kerry (MA), Pryor (AR), Dorgan (ND), Conrad (ND) -- who introduced the "Equal Access to 21st Century Communications Act" (S. 3304). The letter expresses thanks for the measure, summarizes the legislation, suggests some improvements, asks for a Senate Hearing and expresses COAT's commitment to working on strengthening the bill. The letter is attached below. COAT affiliates are expected to send the same letter to these senators.
